SHIPPING & RETURNS

At East Shore Builds, every piece is handcrafted and carefully packaged in Ithaca, New York. The following policies are intended to provide transparency regarding production times, shipping, returns, and exchanges.

Processing & Production Times

  • Most items are handcrafted and made to order and require 3–6 weeks for production before shipment. Production times may vary depending on order volume, material availability, and the complexity of the piece.

  • While many orders ship sooner, please allow up to six weeks for handcrafted and made-to-order pieces.

  • Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.

  • Custom orders and larger furniture pieces may require additional production time.

Shipping

  • We currently ship throughout the continental United States.

  • All orders are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive safely. Shipping costs, if applicable, will be calculated at checkout.

  • Shipping estimates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed and may vary due to weather, carrier delays, or other circumstances beyond our control.

  • Customers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. East Shore Builds is not responsible for delays or lost packages resulting from incorrect address information.

Delivery Inspection & Damaged Shipments

Customers are responsible for inspecting all items upon delivery.

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incomplete, please contact East Shore Builds within five (5) days of delivery and include:

  • Your order number

  • Photos of the damaged item

  • Photos of the shipping box and packaging materials

  • A brief description of the issue

Failure to report damage within this timeframe may affect our ability to process claims with the shipping carrier.

Lost or Stolen Packages

East Shore Builds is not responsible for packages marked as delivered by the shipping carrier that are subsequently lost or stolen.

Customers experiencing delivery issues should contact the shipping carrier directly and notify East Shore Builds so that we can assist with the claims process.

Returns

Due to the handmade nature of our products, returns are accepted only for standard, non-custom items.

Eligible items may be returned within thirty (30) days of delivery if they are:

  • Unused and in their original condition

  • Returned in their original packaging

  • Free from damage or alterations

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or defective.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Refunds will be issued once the item has been received and inspected.

Custom Orders

Custom and personalized orders are final sale and cannot be returned, exchanged, or canceled once production has begun.

Please review all dimensions, materials, and specifications carefully before placing your order.

Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of purchase. Once production has started, orders cannot be canceled.

Product Dimensions & Tolerances

All dimensions listed on our website are approximate. Due to the handmade nature of our products and the natural movement of solid wood, minor variations in size, grain pattern, and finish may occur.

Variations of up to 1/4 inch are considered normal and are not considered defects.

Natural Wood & Finish Variations

Each piece is handcrafted from solid wood and will naturally vary in grain, color, knots, texture, and figure. Product photos are representative examples and may not exactly match the item you receive.

Wood naturally changes color and develops character over time due to exposure to sunlight, humidity, and everyday use. These natural changes are expected and are not considered defects.

Weight Capacity & Installation

Customers are responsible for ensuring that wall-mounted products are installed into appropriate wall framing or suitable anchors according to the installation instructions provided.

Published weight capacities are estimates based on proper installation into standard wall framing. Actual capacity may vary depending on wall construction, hardware, and installation method.

East Shore Builds is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation, failure to follow installation instructions, or exceeding recommended weight limits.

Installation Liability Disclaimer

East Shore Builds is not liable for property damage, personal injury, or other losses resulting from improper installation, misuse, modification, or failure to follow the provided instructions and recommendations.

Customers assume all responsibility for the installation and use of wall-mounted products after delivery.

Furniture Fit & Access

Customers are responsible for ensuring that purchased items can safely fit through doorways, stairways, hallways, elevators, and other access points prior to placing an order.

East Shore Builds is not responsible for items that cannot be delivered or installed due to space restrictions.

Care Instructions

To preserve the finish and longevity of your product:

  • Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and direct sunlight.

  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

Delays Beyond Our Control

East Shore Builds is not responsible for delays caused by weather, natural disasters, material shortages, carrier delays, labor disruptions, supply chain interruptions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
